Music listened to via mobile will generate $5.5bn (£3.4bn) by 2015, but growth continues to be threatened by piracy. A report by Juniper Research revealed revenues from mobile music will almost double from $3.1bn (£1.92bn) in 2010 to $5.5bn in four years’ time.

It said mobile music services were helping to boost legitimate consumption of music as more people used their phones to buy and stream music. However it warned peer-to-peer file sharing was migrating to mobile, with some BitTorrent apps available on Android, and this could increase with the introduction of 4G networks.  To read the full report visit here.
