With the new film coming out shortly, we thought we’d give you a taster of what we think will be another icon film about money, greed and success. For those who don’t know what Wall street is all about.

Essentially it’s about a young and impatient stockbroker who is willing to do anything to get to the top, including trading on illegal inside information taken through a ruthless and greedy corporate raider whom takes the youth under his wing. View the original trailer.

In times of economic downturn, it is often the case that we all start to prioritize as to what we feel is important. Equality of opportunity gives way to a self motivated mind set, whereby survival of the fittest is the main principle. As an entrepreneur or business person, you have to take what you can get and more often than not have to survive through cunning and resourcefulness. Milton Friedman in his book ”Capitalism and Freedom” (1962) advocated minimizing the role of government in a free market as a means of creating political and social freedom.

This argument suggests that the great achievements in history have not come though government bureaus. They have come from largely free trade and capitalism. In summary great innovation and success’s come through hardship, and lack of resources. Now is a great time to be an entrepreneur as it allows you to create change and make a difference.

What are your thoughts? Is greed in business a good thing? Leave a comment and let me know.
