I was at the IOD yesterday.  I used to work there when I first moved to London in 2002.  I spoke to one of my old colleagues who mentioned that things were tough at the moment and membership was dropping.  Was I surprised?  To be honest no.  

With there being so many other groups and platforms like meetup  or opencoffee for directors, both young and old to meet up and discuss business in formal and informal environments. That said, is the IOD a good idea that is there to help and support directors? Yes. Will i join? TBC.

It’s funny who you meet on a train or walking down the street.  Today whilst spending a day blogging about bussiness, I saw a lady who seemed to be struggling with her bags.  I asked if I could help and she replied with a smile saying “Yes thank you.”  I asked where she was going and it turned out she was flying to singapore.  The lady in question was Caroline Oliver we got talking about what we both did for the brief duration of our journeys.
